• Account Information: We collect your name and email address via Google Sign-In to create your profile.
• Calendar Access: We access your Google Calendar to identify "busy" slots and to write newly created group events. We do not collect or store the details (titles, descriptions, or attendees) of your existing personal appointments.
• Messaging: We store group chat messages locally and on our secure servers to ensure your conversations stay synced across your devices.

3. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used strictly for the following purposes:

• To facilitate the identification of common free time within your groups.
• To send push notifications for new chat messages and event invites.
• To sync confirmed group events directly to your personal calendar.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We maintain strict confidentiality of your Google user data. We do not share, transfer, or disclose your personal information or Google Calendar data to third parties, external organizations, or other apps, except in the specific circumstances listed below:

• Service Providers: We use trusted third-party infrastructure providers (specifically Google Firebase) to host our database, authenticate users, and store chat/event data. These providers process data solely on our behalf to operate the App and are contractually bound to protect your data.
• Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or a government agency).
• No Sale of Data: We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal identification information or Google user data to marketers, advertisers, or data brokers.
• Sharing of Data: We do not share your personal identification information or Google user data with any third parties.
• No AI Training: Your Google user data is not transferred or disclosed to third parties for the purpose of training artificial intelligence or machine learning models.

5. Google API Disclosure

SyncUp's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Service User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data. Your calendar tokens are encrypted, and chat data is transmitted over secure channels.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

We believe your data belongs to you. Here is our policy on retention and deletion:

• Retention: We retain your personal information (name, email, chat history, and event data) only for as long as your account is active and necessary to provide our services. Calendar "busy/free" data is processed in real-time and is not stored persistently on our servers.
• Deletion: You have the right to request the deletion of your data at any time. You can delete your account directly within the app settings, which will permanently remove your profile, authentication tokens, and personal data from our servers immediately.
